I was a first time buyer and plan on returning 👠The quality of the build was better then expected and up to par with Aero, or BCM, if not better in my opinion. They called me once the build was finished and gave me a shipping estimate that was very fast, 3-4 days after purchase. Pitts cut down a 14.5 carbine barrel to 12.7 to run a 12 DD rail. A 12 inch wont work, and if you want to run longer then 10, you really are very very limited. I wish there were better options for for 12.5 barrels. I also could not speak for fitment on any other suppressors other then ones that use AAC 51t mounts, surefire Socom's, or KAC (MAMS). These are all dedicated 5.56 suppressors and I could not say for 7.62 cans. 7 inch barrel to actual handguard length will work for these cans. So your 10 inch MK3 SMR with a 10.5 barrel, you will have issues. Have not found one that works.ġ3.7 Noveske Afghan with Geissele 13 rail. Geissele rails are exactly the length stated. The RIS2 MK18 rail is 9.55 and works with the AAC brakeout comp. The absolute closet rail to barrel length I have found is. Its a good thing you ordered the 11.5 with the MK3 Geissele Rail. Thanks everyone for the help, I swear gun guys can be some of the nicest dudes there are. If not then I'll go with a kmr 9" like I had planned front the start. Could I have gotten away with a 10.5" barrel? Don't know, I will find out tho, may be a year or so but I will definitely find out. My 13" mk1 SMR is (using my crappy sorta bent ruler) almost exactly 13 inches, so I'd assume the mk3 10 (should be here Friday to verify) will be almost or exactly 10 inches. I believe I will be able to determine with a good deal of confidence before ordering a barrel if I could get a measurement or two from some helpful folks, it would be greatly appreciated. 2" from the shoulder of threads to rail (+ another. This may seem ridiculous and admittedly it is slightly but best I can tell I will either have about. I did the dow rod down the barrel to the closed bolt (atf's way to determine legality apparently) and ended up with 16.5 or so, measured from the receiver and it's 16.25" to muzzle.
The reason is because when trying to measure my "16 inch" bcm barrel I can't seem to find the point that measures a full 16". Or from the upp receiver to the shoulder of the threads since most muzzles are covered by flash hiders or brakes. What I'm hoping to get is the distance from the upper receiver to the muzzle of the barrel. I was hoping to get a measurement from some 10.5" barrel owners to determine if it will work for me or not. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with a 10.5" barrel. I have been trying to figure out what rail/ barrel combo to go with on my 1st sbr.Įnded up getting a 10" rail.
